How CX teams flag wardrobing without hurting good customers

CX teams sit closest to the problem. They see the repeat names, the familiar return reasons, the photos that do not quite match the claim. What they usually lack is a system that turns those impressions into a decision they are allowed to make.

The risk of acting on gut feel is real. Accusing an honest customer of wardrobing is one of the fastest ways to lose them and earn a public complaint. So teams default to approving everything, and the abusers win.

The fix is a score, not a hunch. When a return request arrives with the customer's full return history attached, timing, categories, condition reports, and keep rate, the agent is not making an accusation. They are following a policy the data already wrote.

Start with warnings for the gray zone and save denials for cases where the history is overwhelming. Teams that work this way report fewer confrontations, not more, because every decision has the receipts attached.
